Listen to article

Gold prices rose significantly in both international and local markets, while silver rates remained unchanged, reported.

In the international bullion market, gold climbed by $14 per ounce, reaching $2,628. Meanwhile, in Pakistan’s local markets, the price of 24-karat gold increased by PKR 1,400 per tola, reaching PKR 274,000. The price for 10 grams also rose by PKR 1,200, standing at PKR 234,911.

In contrast, the price of silver remained steady. The rate for one tola of silver held at PKR 3,350, and for 10 grams, it stayed unchanged at PKR 2,872.08.

Market analysts attributed the rise in gold prices to global economic uncertainty, which continues to drive demand for the safe-haven asset.
