Karam elders agreed to sign the draft peace agreement

The Peace Jirga on the Karam issue will be held again on Tuesday, after the chiefs have agreed to sign the draft, after which the deadlock in the peace deal is likely to end.

The Aman Jirga has not yet been able to make a final decision as the leaders of one side have not yet signed the peace agreement. The government members and elders will sit together once again, hoping to resolve the conflict in the Aman Jirga.

Abolition of bunkers, collection of arms, land disputes will be resolved under tribal law, the points of Karam Aman Agreement

Sources say that one side had asked for time for consultation, but now the elders have agreed to sign the draft peace agreement.

It should be remembered that the main highway from Peshawar to Parachinar has been closed for more than two and a half months. People of several villages of Upper Karam including Parachinar are facing shortage of food and medicines.
