Pakistan Railways achieves Rs46b revenue

” Pakistan Railways has achieved revenue of Rs46 billion in the first half (July-December) of current fiscal year 2024-25, marking an increase of Rs5 billion compared with the same period of last year.
According to official figures, the department generated revenue of Rs24 billion from running passenger trains and Rs16 billion from freight train services. Additionally, Rs6 billion was earned through land leases, coaching and other sources.
Pakistan Railways Chief Executive Officer Aamir Ali Baloch revealed that railways got record revenue, which he attributed to the organisation’s effective policies.
He emphasised that the increase in revenue reflected the institution’s positive trajectory and expressed confidence that 2025 would prove to be a transformative year for Pakistan Railways.
“We are on track to fulfill our promise of launching a new train service for Karachi by March,” Baloch stated.
