Rafia Haider appointed head of women’s cricket

LAHORE: Former Deputy Commissioner Lahore, Rafia Haider, has officially assumed her responsibilities as the Head of Women’s Cricket, sources told Hum News.

Her appointment was approved by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Rafia joined the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on deputation and previously worked actively during Mohsin Naqvi’s tenure as Punjab’s Chief Minister.

ASP Shehrbano Naqvi was also considered for the role, as her name appeared among the potential candidates for this position.

Liverpool’s Slot wary of goal-hungry Spurs in League Cup clash

This development follows a recent shake-up in the cricket board after disappointing performances by Pakistan’s women’s team in the Asia Cup and World Cup.

The position had been vacant since Tania Malik’s resignation. Malik, who served as head for three years, stepped down citing limited authority in her role and the team’s persistent struggles on the international stage.

With her appointment, Rafia Haider has officially begun her duties, signalling a move to strengthen administrative leadership in women’s cricket in Pakistan.
