Details of block ID cards in the last 5 years presented in the National Assembly

The details of block ID cards in the last 5 years have been presented in the National Assembly.

According to the Ministry of Interior, a total of 71 thousand 849 ID cards were blocked in the last 5 years, the highest number of 25 thousand 981 ID cards was blocked in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

More than 13 thousand ID cards have been blocked in Punjab, 20 thousand 583 in Balochistan and 9 thousand 677 in Sindh.

Similarly, 1,370 ID cards were blocked in Islamabad, 228 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 446 in Azad Kashmir. In the last 5 years, 44,460 ID cards were unblocked after necessary verification.

The Ministry of Interior further says that 13,618 block ID cards are under investigation so far.
