Electricity theft of 12 billion 485 million rupees revealed

Electricity theft of 12 billion 485 million rupees has been revealed last year.

The Ministry of Energy presented the details of electricity theft in the National Assembly in 2024. According to the document, 5 billion 83 crores were collected from the consumers.

2 lakh 16 thousand FIRs were registered against electricity theft, 62 thousand 452 people were arrested during the anti-electricity theft campaign.

In the first phase, a DSO unit was set up in Pesco to deal with electricity theft.
