The federal government withdrew important powers from the FBR

Islamabad: The federal government has withdrawn important powers from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

A notification to withdraw important powers from the FBR has been issued. According to which the tax policy office has been set up in the finance ministry.

Tax policy making and tax collection was separated. After that, the FBR will now be limited to tax collection work. The FBR will focus on suggestions and implementation to increase revenue.

According to the notification, the tax policy office will directly report to the Finance Minister and Revenue. And the tax policy office will work on creating a government reform agenda. The tax policy office will analyze tax policies and suggestions.
