Increase in tomato and onion prices in Quetta

The prices of vegetables increased further in Quetta, the prices of tomatoes and onions increased in the provincial capital.

In Quetta, tomato is being sold at 200 to 250 rupees per kg, the price of onion has reached 150 rupees per kg due to an increase of 70 rupees per kg.

Dealers say that prices have increased due to the end of the vegetable season in the cold regions of Balochistan.

It should be noted that the prices of essential commodities in the country have increased by 0.28% on weekly basis and 15.02% on annual basis. According to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) Weekly Report on Sensitive Price Index (SPI), in the week ending October 17, the prices of 9 essential commodities in the country decreased and the prices of 23 remained stable.

Poultry price per kg stable at Rs 595

On the contrary, the prices of 19 commodities increased, including onion by 7.02%, banana by 2.83%, jaggery by 1.82%, potato by 1.15%, lentil mash by 0.72%, rice by 0.40%, sugar by 0.27% and basmati rice. The price decreased by 0.09 percent.

On the contrary, the price of tomato is 26.24%, dal mung 9.86%, gram dal 3.15%, flour 2.10%, diesel 2.01%, LPG 1.50%, garlic 1.31%, chicken 0.96%, eggs 0.68%, mustard oil 0.65%. percent and the price of firewood decreased by 0.35 percent.
