Four killed in alleged police encounter

ATTOCK:

In what appears to be the third alleged police encounter in February, four suspected dacoits were killed—reportedly by their own accomplices’ gunfire—while attempting to free a fellow suspected criminal from police custody in Attock.

According to the police, the Hazro Police were transporting Noor Wali Khan, a suspected terrorist accused of killing Constable Qadeer Khan, from Peshawar for further investigation. Near Bahadur Khan Union Council, five armed individuals on motorcycles ambushed the police team, opening fire and managing to free Noor Wali Khan.

Following the attack, the police pursued the suspects to Peerzai, where another gunfight erupted.
